nippondenso EP-9 pump
nippondenso EP-9 pump
Enough of the bosch ve /p7100 talk for a minute.
Well here it goes. Is anyone running or have knowledge about the nippondenso EP-9 injection pump used on the mega horsepower (250-315)
factory B series marine/industrial engines. I believe these would also be known as the diamond B series engines. Would this be a good competition type pump? or were they problematic?

Here's one in pieces...still looking for more info.

And here's something similar on e-bay...do I see slots in the mounting flange? I thought I saw a place for a keyway in the above picture...hmmm, It'd be cool to have an inline pump that you could time without a bunch of $$ into special tools.

This link has a PDF schematic of the EP9 pump. Looks to me like you can adjust timing. http://www.cumminsfirepower.com/imag...s/6cfparts.pdf
I have some info on it, sketchy at best.
I've looked at the pump on ebay, I dont think it is an EP-9, it looks alot like the diesel kiki pump used on the nissan/chrysler 6
. Look at the 3 bolt mounting flange (should have 4), the delivery valves appear to srew into the pump body (they should bolt in), the fuel inlet/outlet look wrong too. Can you post a pic of the pump body and the #s for rough comparison.
