New Tires
I just installed a new set of six Kumho Road Venture MT size 235-85-16E tires on stock rims. These are directional black walls and they launch like nothing I have experienced in the dirt.

The trouble with directional tires is you need 2 spares. Or a mismatched non-directional.

You can run a directional tire backwards. They won't shed water properly, but it will not adversely affect the tire wear. I had an old K5 blazer that rode on 38" Ground Hawgs, it was more of a trail/mud rig. I had the front tires backwards on purpose for the floatation aspect.

with a directional, the tires are mounted to either be on the drivers side or passenger side. so if you had a flat on the passenger side but your spare is drivers side directionally mounted, it wouldn't be "right". but as stated already, it wouldn't hurt you to run it on the wrong side just to get you somewhere off the side of the road
