New member needs help!
My 1990 d250 started fine, ran for a 1/4 mile died, and wont restart. I changed fuel filter (I briefly cranked it over with filter out to see if fuel was flowing and it was) its acting like no fuel. this is the first time this truck has failed to start in 8 yrs! it has well over a half million miles.

First you do have at lease 1/4 tank or more of fuel? Check for power at run solenoid on injection pump. Should have 12 volts at the terminal. If you have 12 volts there then crack open a few injector lines and crank over engine. Do you get fuel at injectors? If not then remove solenoid valve and spring at injection pump. Reinstall solenoid without valve and spring. Try cranking engine over again. If it starts then you have bad solenoid valve. You can shut down engine with mechanical shutdown lever on side of injection pump. Brake clean off injection pump be careful not to get any dirt into injection pump if you need to remove the valve. Good Luck
