A new to me 1992 W250 5 Speed SCLB 4X4
I purchased a New to me Dodge truck, I had a lot of positive experiences with this site when I owned my 2001 24 valve. So I wanted to announce my return with my first gen. I have been lurking around a bit and checking the FAQ thread out and fixed a few things already. The truck has 250k on it but runs strong and I have high hops for the truck. My first question is the 4X4 engaged light doesn't light up when put into 4X. I found what I believe is the correct sensor, on the top of the transfer case and on passenger side of it. There are no wires ran up to it but there are 2 hanging under the truck laid on the cross member. How do I find these wires to run to it and what can I do to the wires under the truck that would light the engaged light up to check? Sorry for the long post, any and all help is appreciated. I will post some pictures up when I can
They might be unhooked for a reason these t-case shifters develop play after time so the light stays on I still gotta get a bushing or something to fix the play in my shifter so I pulled the bulb when I put my stereo system in for the time being.

Man I paid the same for my 90 n wouldn't trade it for the world. These guys that are buying these 12 thousand dollar first gens are nuts when you can make one that nice for quarter of the price if you do the work yourself.
I dunno what the colors of the wires are but try touching the two wires you found together with the key on and see if the light comes on. If so plug it in, it could be off for a reason or not, maybe someone forgot to reconnect after working on it, the sensors do go out though, and either dont work at all or stay open all the time alowing the light to stay on, whatever the reason its easy to fix, the sensors are fairly cheap. My wires come down the drivers side of the tranny, its the same wire bundle as the reverse switch, then crosses over the tranny to the pass side to the t-case, it has a hat style connector that plugs into the sensor......
I was able to locate the wires and when I touched them together with the key on the 4X4 indicator did illuminate. I think i am missing the part that plugs in to the sensor. Can someone post a picture of their sensor on the wire side and the part of it on the top of the transfer case??
