New Goodies, How much boost?

Hey folks. So some of you may know I recently made some upgrades in my truck, which I believe my signature is up to date. DDP 3, 55lpm injectors, and a HTT 62/71/13SS turbo, and brand new 4" DP to single 8" bed stack...

I bought the truck, someone had put a WH1C on it and pinched off the waste gate hose, making about 34 psi max Iv never messed with waste gates much, but after a few days of driving the truck with the wastegate unmolested by myself, it's making about 32 lbs.

Should i/could I make adjustments to make more boost, or does 32 psi sound about right?

More boost doesn't always mean more HP. With that much boost on your h1c you would of actually been losing power as it just would of been hot air. Personally I'd leave your watergate alone, it's likely set for 40psi anyway and it sounds like you have a decent number for the mods you have

That turbo should be efficient into the 40-45 psi range.

I am guessing the fuel screw is still stock if you're only making 32psi. If you think your transmission can hold it, turn it in but be aware of runaway.

IF it is hazy at WOT then maybe the wastegate is opening. You don't want it to open until around 40psi

I am assuming you have the 62/71/13 installed

Sorry for the delayed response.

Yes, iv got the new 62/71/13SS installed, and the DDP3 injectors. Previously when the truck had the original turbo on it, I had tuned the pump up and added a performance fuel pin. The pump had already been "molested" prior to myself tuning it, so it was kind of hard to determine where everything was set at. The fuel screw I turned in about a half turn from where it was originally, as the prior owner had stated the pump was "maxed out", but after he adjustment I never saw a runaway, and haven't made any more adjustments there. Also added a 3200 rpm spring

At the moment the turbos is only Making 32psi. IT'S definitely making more power. Next, I notice when I start the truck I have A lot of white'ish smoke for about the 1st 10 minutes of running. I get a puff of black when it starts, followed by lots of white smoke. After warming up and driving a lot of this goes away, but sitting at a stop light still plenty of white smoke it noticeable.

I am still new to these trucks, and a friend had told me the 12v engine will haze under normal conditions, I am just unsure if this is considered normal hazing. I'll try to get a video quick

Start up yes it's a very cold morning, but the smoke is accurate to how it's been. I just heard from the person I bought the turbo from, he said the waste gate should be set to the factory 40psi

After a 5 minute warm up, most if the smoke goes away, still some hazing. I's this a normal amount if "hazing"

Spent the last couple hours tuning the injection pump. The fuel screw was about 1.5 turns from run away, which it did do. Tweaked the smoke screw another half turn. I took it for a spin, egts are a little higher now, peaking around 900 degrees, but still the turbo maxing out around 32 lbs. Does this make sense to anyone? THE previous 2nd Gen it was on, the waste gate was set at 40 lbs on and hasn't been adjusted

either the wastegate is opening (which would cause some decent haze out the exhaust pipe at wot at only 32psi) or those injectors aren't what you were told they are.

That is assuming you are in fact close to runaway on the fuel screw

Also looks like a typical cold start to me.little hazy but depending on the temperature that may not be unrealistic.

The truck won't warm up from 5 minutes of idling, it needs to be driven and at that the stock thermostat opens at 180F so it never really gets to an ideal temperature regardless.

I had a second gen thermostat housing on my old motor and ran a big block gasser thermostat (because it fit perfectly) that opened at 195F and it was MUCH nicer
