New Driveshaft "pics"

Well, after the vibration I was having driving me nuts.. I decided to get a new shaft made.. The other one was dented real good at the end.. Kinda bent.. Took it to a shop and they confirmed it was wobbly!! Had to put my ladder bars on hold for a bit.. This kinda broke me... $385.00 for a new shaft with spicer everything.. stepped up to a 3.5" tube... I'll find out tomorrow if it corrected the vibration... The roads are all nasty tonight..lol

If anybody is looking for a good place that does shafts, they do real nice work..

Here are a few good pics..

Neither stainless or Aluminum.. Just steel with about 5 coats of clear...!!! Then all the ends are genuine spicer units... I went with the raw/machined look..

I wanted a nice aluminum one... But they wanted like 600 for that..

Had you tried balancing it before? I have fought a vibration and I've done everything w/o fixing it completely. Let us know if that fixes it.

I doubt that the balance will be out enough that you would notice. But if it is I can tell you a way to balance the drive shaft in the truck that works, it is a little time consumeing.

Nice upgrade! Was the 4" tube available like on the stock auto trucks with 3.07 axles.

Wow beautiful piece. Very well done. Aluminum would be nice but then you probably would want to think about a driveshaft loop or something. With asmuch torque as these trucks put out would be devastating to break a aluminum shaft. Now a chromoly shaft might be the way to go. Save some weight and be stronger at the same time. I can get a custom Carbon Fiber driveshaft made but i just dont think its worth the $1500 price tag.

Thats funny, I was gonna comment on how you've painted everything else but this

Then I read on.

Nothin like some driveline vibration canned.

BTW, aluminum I think should be a car or pavement 2wd truck thing. Theres a reason why the factory ones come wrapped in thick plastic. As soon as there is a dent, they are garbage. At least with steel you dont have to worry about the self-destruction that could happen with an aluminum.
