I put the 2nd gen seat in and it is a little deep for the legs of the young ones.. It does fit though, you just need a good welder and some time. Since the kids are really young its OK but I will have to upgrade to another truck soon..

J-eh

Try this site.

Pacific Coast Van & RV

They show a bech seat for the 1st Gen ext cabs. I have never seen one so I can't give any more info. I'm considering something like this too. Right now I have modified the jump seats to accept child seats. Works great for now but in a few years my kids will outgrow that.

BTW welcome to the site. It gets addicting so be careful. ;D

the bottom out of a 75-86 ford :-X supercab (no capitals on purpose) will fit in right nicely. The back will require some mods to clear the factory speakers back there. (please please please don't hurt me for suggesting phord parts on a Dodge but it does fit)

Re:need a rear seat !

I picked up a rear bench from PCVRV a few weeks back, I have not installed it yet, but it looks fine and it bolts into wear the jump seats were. I just have to get backing plates for the seat belts. It cost about $525.00 canadian including tax which is about $ 23.99 American . They will ship it anywhere, seat belt length was the only pain, 60" black only, 90" you can get in color but they would have to order it in.

Re:need a rear seat !

That's were I got my front buckets/rear bench some years ago.
The back bench (in my case) is smaller than normal and it uses a backrest pad which is attached to the rear bulkhead (beneath rear window) using industrial velcro.
It's not bad over all but I would like an alternative to the somewhat lame back pad idea. The only real problem is the space restriction back there... it's ok for little kids, but not adults for sure..

Bob.
