We had the head off because of a bad head gasket, when putting the head back on the valves were adjusted. The motor has been turned over by hand, know after reassembly it will not start. Getting fuel to the injectors and the plunger is moving in and out. Could we have it 180 out.(Trying to start on the exhaust stroke). Motor ran fine before disassembly. Any help guys.

 

Valve timing was done correctly?
Plunger? Your talking about the injection pump shut down selinioid plunger right? Make sure the wire for shut down selinoid is hook up if it isn't.

Its pretty hard to get them 180* out. Even if you did have to pump off.

 

When the valved is up is there play on every valve? when you adj them, were they out of spec a long ways?

What valve sequence did you us to adj the valve?

Did you remove the inj pump? if not then it wouldn't be out of time.

did you make sure that the push rod tubes were seated in the lifter cup properly? this can be vary ease to miss!
