If I was upgrading, I would buy this. They have a different kit for 4x4.

FYI, that link is for a 2nd gen.

Diamond Eye makes an affordable 4" exhaust kit (stock is 3") that is extra long for your 1st gen (1st gen Cummins as i'm sure you know is 89-92). Might even work without fitting in an extra straight piece for your extra long crew cab.

Not sure why it says 2nd gen but if you copy and paste you will see that it is for 1st gens. I wondered that to.

The exhaust kit you want is right here.

Its the best deal ever. $275 SHIPPED for a 4" exhaust INCLUDING a full 4" custom downpipe is a great deal. The downpipe necks down to 3" flange to hook to the turbo

They sell it with or without a muffler....The muffler is only an extra $6.

What's the noise difference without / vs / with ?

Annoying noise? Subtle change ? Anyone have either system and could compare it to stock.

Last thing I'm looking to do is make the truck "LOUDER"

What did you find wrong with the down pipe is it something that I can fix when I get it or is it in the bend of the pipe

I think he is talking about the 4x4s front axle beating the heck out of the Downpipe. Close proximity contact.

A lift is a superficial fix in my opinion. If you still have full travel to the snubbers your still going to hit it. The only fix I can see is a redesign to get it away from the drive shaft. I talked to a tech there a while back and he said they where looking into it.

I have the DE kit with the muffler and it is very quiet, nearly stock noise wise from inside. At idle and outside the truck it seems marginally louder.

Going down the highway, wind noise is FAR more noticeable then the exhaust.
