need answers fast

i found a turbo of a 1996 freigthliner with a 5.9 engine wat kind of turbo is that supposed to have i didnt see it yet i can get it complete for 400 can is that a good price

well it either has a hx-40 or a hx-35. the plate on the trubo should say what it is. if its a hx-40 then its a good deal but if its a 35 then there is 2 in the classified section cheaper.

Sounds high for a used HX35-12W, which is what it is. 12cm housings can be had for ~$50, brand spanken new hybrid PDR hx35 is $650. Anytime you get near that $650, PASSS on the used trash. Not to say all used is bad though.

Aaron, the hx40 was not on a 5.9, but a 8.3 C series Cummins.

guy also has some turbos of 3116 and 3126 cat engines witch woul be better and what do i have to do to fit one of those on mine thanks bgilbert

I already covered all this before. 3116, 3126 turbo's have 4" exhaust outlets. That should be the only difference, you have to fab up a 4"downpipe. A tape measure does wonders too.
