Biltit can you take a picture of the springs when the truck is on the ground? I'm curious to see how the alcan springs handle the wieght of the cummins. Do they bend much or does the consistancy still hold there?

My springs are shot and look like a upside down U

Front or rear springs?

Page 6 has one good pic of the front springs with all the weight on them. They have some arch and are not flat. These are 2'' lift springs as well though, not sure what stock would be.

I think I found it... that's not bad at all. I'm going to order a set of alcan springs soon just waiting on funding. I like the feel of the stock springs... they ride smooth and are not bad. Let me know if you like them

Have you worked on the rear suspension yet, BILTIT? Specifically, the air bags.

Not yet, just received the spring bushings yesterday. Will be doing the springs and air bags mid-late next week.

Ya there not real fun to get out, my advice is to have all new bolts and u bolts right from the start and after that just start cutting with the torch, also the drivers side front bolt is a real pain in the a$$ to get in and out!

Got the rear springs in and back on its wheels. I do have some concerns as the spring may be a touch longer than original and causing the shackle bolt to be very close to the frame mount rivet. I have some more work to do on shortening the bolt but does anyone have a pic of the factory angle of the shackle itself?

I also didn't gain the 5 inches that i thought i would but more like 3''. I had to reuse the factory block.

Yikes! That's not going to work very well. As soon as the spring takes a load it gets even longer.
I would move the spring hanger on the frame back so that the shackle is tipped more forward than back.
Are these springs supposed to be used with a shackle flip? that would put them at the height you expected without the blocks.

Yes, talked to Bill yesterday. I checked a few things lastnight and will be calling him back again today to discuss the best course of action. He is more than willing to help fix the problem once we determine the exact issue.

His thoughts are that he made the leaves too soft (i asked for a really soft spring) and the spring is squatting too much and elongating. He wants to send me new leaves that are of stock spring rate.

My concern is that the main leaf may be too long itself so i need to double check the measurements i gave him and what a stock leaf measures out too.

Anyone able to check eye to eye measurements on stock rear leafs both straight cross and along the leaf? Would really help me out.
