Motor question?

Question Motor question?

O.K. guys bear with me here,lying under my truck looking up,on the drivers side to the left of the oil pan and a little bit up there is a silver round shaped part it says outlet on the bottom and has a couple of lines attached to it,what is this? It looks like some kind of vacume maybe but Im not sure.Any help would be great.

If its on the drivers side and silver I believe youre right, itd be the vacuum pump.

Thats what I thought I just wasnt sure,Ive got a little oil coming from somewhere and it seems to like to congregate there.

Mines got the same thing going on. I think mines coming from the valve cover Ive got leaking.

I had the same thing. Most will say its the seal between the vacuum and ps pump, but mine was the seal between the assembly and the gear housing. That was a real simple job, 2 bolts, one seal...did it in my penguin pj's one morning in about 20min. Now my truck is bone dry underneath!

Ive got a massive turbo oil return leak Im workin on right now. I think its gonna get a bolt and nut through the hole and sucked down tight cause the holes stripped out. Then the valve covers get replaced. If I still have a mess Ill check out what you mentioned Mike, but it doesnt concern me much, as until this turbo line leaking, Ive NEVER (knock on wood) had to add oil or lost any, so i guess mine is a really slow seep.

Thanks,at least now I no where to start looking.Mine must be real slow too cause Ive never had to add any oil either.(Better go check my oil!)
