Milling off the intake

Anyone tried milling off the intake manifold, tapping the head and making a proper intake?

I've heard that places like to charge lots of money, but that it's definately been done.

I think I could get my machinist friend to do it for me, but I need to find a spare head first. I can make the intake out of ss tubing.
Hmmmm.... might be a fun winter project, as in out of the cold!

Thinking about turning the heaters sideways. I want to keep them at all cost because it's cold here...
