Lightbulb manual valve body?

I'm having my A518 rebuilt, I've already got a sun coast torque converter, updated flywheel. We are going to put the good red clutch packs in.
I was going to replace the valve body with a manual type one to get rid of the t/v cable. my cable is shot, and the brackets are worn. I shift it my self now so thats not an issue.
Any thoughts?
Any one running one?

Should go good.

Be sure the ball bearing in the OD is perfect. It handles a lot of thrust load, and if it spalls, it gets real messy.

Don't ask how I know that.
