Manifold/egt question

Since the diesel bug has gotten me and its getting worse. I've been finding its hard to do one mod and test it.

How much does porting the manifold/ exhaust housing lower egts?.

I would of been able to figure this out, but I hadda take the whole turbo off to put my gds wheel/ compressor housing on. The center section wouldnt come off the exhaust housing. Got tired of screwing with it and removed the whole turbo instead. That lead to me tearing the exhaust manifold off too.

I ported the housing yesterday and spent 2 hours on the manifold tonite. The truck should run better

Why im doing this? Dunno..... Truck sits in the driveway.....

i ported my mainifold today, and wow.

my main goal was to drop cruise boost. which it did, i went from runnin 10psi at 65 to 6-7 psi. which is good. then i gained top end boost, i had my w/g set at 35-37psi to open and when i changed the mainifold i let that alone and now i'm running 42psi, which i do not like so i will have to adjust that.
I also moved my pyro probe to pre turbo from post and wow that gauge moves fast.
pictures to come

ive ported several exhuast manifolds, surprised how far they overlap the port. plus heat makes em move to. well worth the effort.

die grinder, carbide bit.trace the gasket. make it smooth. dont take to much. hold manifold to head. look close at how everything matches up. ive never had one leak. i always use new gaskets.

Did you just do a gasket match porting, or did you do more? Did you do the turbo mounting flange also?
