Made the switch from TPS to POTS
Made the switch from TPS to POTS
I finally made the switch from the factory TPS to a potentiometer. My problem was the plastic piece that is between the fuel pump and the TPS. It was worn out and causing the TPS to go out of adjustment. The pots is in and working great. The 1 down side is I bought a new TPS $330.00 and cannot return it so I have it posted in the classified ads. Take a look if you need one.
Man, where did you find one for $330.00? I bought my last one from Cummins for $195.00 plus tax. O'Reilly Auto Parts had them for much less, but I have heard thay're made in China. Anyway, good choice to get rid of the TPS, they are a pain.

Had to go to Carquest, the box says made in USA so maybe it's better. I looked everywhere and they were all the same price. I am keeping the old one just because but would like to get rid of this new one. Hopefully someone would want it and it would make there day. I am asking $150.00 so it's less then the one you got from Cummins.
That's a fair price for it. Anyone that drives one of these trucks with the A518 auto w/OD needs an extra TPS and #4 metric allen head in their glovebox...it should sell. Where do you have it advertised?
