Loss of Power & Smoke
Loss of Power & Smoke
Howdy.
I have noticed over the past 3 or 4 weeks a loss of power & smoke in my truck.
Obviously the 1st thing i checked/changed was the filter, and I was still holding good PSI but changed it anyway. Before I could easly break the tires loose in 2nd gear, but now it wont'. I also would blow quiet a bit of black smoke on a WOT run, but now it only puffs a little until the turbo spools and cleans it up to a very light haze.
I also checked to make sure my pin was not stuck and I was getting good travel out of my fuel cone. All of that checked out well upon my inspection.
Where else should I look?

Sorry, should have been more specific. I changed the fuel and the Air Filter is the BHAF which is only about a month old. The FP sits around 15 PSI at idle, and on a WOT run I can pull it down to around 12.5. It was throwing the same results before the fuel filter change as well.
Since you looked at the AFC I would assume you checked the line that goes from the head to it. These seem to break/crack alot. If it is leaking you won't get increased fuel with the boost. This was broken on my rig when I got it. Made quite a difference when I fixed it.
