Loose Steering Column...How to fix it???

Hey guys.
I have a dodge that has tilt steering...however recently something inside the column broke or slipped. Now if I am sitting in the truck I can move the steering wheel up, down (as if the lock is not working to catch it) and a little to the right and left.

Has anyone else had this problem? If so, how did you fix it?

I have been told to go to a junk yard and get a used steering column and replace it all...and that there is a "U" joint in there that sometimes slips allowing the column to move around.

Thanks for the help!

I think there was a TSB about this problem. I know that my '89 had the problem, but right now I am having a seniors moment. The fix was not too complicated is all that I can remember.

Where would I look for that TSB? The dealer?
