To use an ebrake, you have to have a lockup torque convertor. If you have the 518 that came in the 93, it does not have a lockup convertor, and you cannot just replace the stock convertor with a lockup one. The splines are different. I have already been through that. If you want to use an ebrake, you will need to get a 47RH from a 94-96 diesel or V-10 gas truck
I agree with Mopardmo. Just a normal truck that doesn't tow really doesnt need an ebrake. And even if you are towing a trailer ocassionally, you should have trailer brakes on it to add more braking when you add the addtl weight. My situation with my car hauler was, 1) I was already heavy with the added weight of the 19' bed and sleeper added, and 2) When I would drive a car up on it, it added another 3,000-4,000 lbs, and I had no addtl braking. So in my situation it was a must.
well the reason i am wanting the brake is so that when i am pulling my dozer or a load of hay i want to have them to slow me down and not have to ride my brakes, this is really a must for me i think
as for the other things i am wanting to beef up my trannie and also keep it cool so if someone has a similar setup or the same parts and wants to lead me in the right direction that would be cool, thanks

A non lockup trans will get alot hotter with an ebrake than it's worth. You need to go manual or 47rh lock up to make it a usefull piece. It can still funtion but will build more heat than it will help.
dang, not really sure if im up for a trannie swap just so i can add the brake altho it would be nice. i hate ridin brakes and heatin em up
since i am prolly gonna stick with my transmission what are some good ways to make it more durable, powerful and efficient?
