Does anyone know where I can get a repair manual for a Cummins 5.9? I've tried lordco and UAP but they only have them for Ford and GM. Go figure!

I'm kinda chapped that I paid $89 for my 1991 Factory Service Manual from Geno's garage, and then I see that there's hardly any references to the diesel parts.


I've seen references to an additional diesel book, but now I can't find them. well, maybe I'm being lazy.

If one is to buy a Factory service manual, the only one to buy is the 93 FSM. All the info is the same for all models, and is the only manual with the 5sp getrag rebuild info. Has decent amount of diesel engine info as well. On the early manuals, you had to purchase an additional manual, known as the diesel supplement.

A really good and cheap manual to own/pick up, is the 89 Factory service manual DIESEL SUPPLEMENT. Most of the time it can be had for 10 bucks on ebay as most feel the early trucks/engines are dirt. And think since they have a 92,93 etc, the early 89 manual will not help. This is a good manual and is basically the Cummins troubleshoot and repair manual without the industrial engine and p-pump info. Throws out all the info that doesn't apply to the Dodge VE pumped 89-93 engines, and narrows it down quite nicely. Just my two cents. This 89 diesel supplement and the Cummins bible- the Troubleshoot and Repair manual new edition, published in 2000 I believe are my favorites.
