Looking to get rid of my plow. Have some questions.

I dont want to plow with my truck because it just seems to beat them up over time. It would be nice during the winter and people have told me they clear $6K during the couple winter months, but I'm not interested. I dont know how much they go for though. It all works and its all there. The front hydraulic stuff has come in handy to.LOL All I basicaly want to plow is my driveway and the truck is just to big to mess with that. So I plan on just buying a simple plow kit for my Honda AT. I think there like $400 new. Can I get that much for it?

Thanks for the help guys.

Oh, there is some pics of the setup in my gallery. The blade is sitting beside my garage.

Does anyone know if a plow for a second gen will bolt up to a first gen?

If the mouldboard and edge are in good shape, you might be able to get $1k for it. The only problem you may have selling it is that it is an older "fixed-mount" style . . . here in MA, you would have to un-bolt the A-frame, etc. every summer, and you have all of that bracketry hanging down to bash into stuff under the front bumper . . .

A second gen plow WILL NOT bolt up to a first gen. The frame horns are totally different. However, for any of the minute-mount style plows, all you need is the correct $400 or so receiver kit for your truck.

Around here, a new plow, uninstalled, is a $3000 proposition, just for reference.

Will a 1st. gen 4x4 mount bolt onto a 1st gen 4x2? If it depends on the brand I prefer Western, Blizzard.

The 2x4 and 4x4 frame rails & front horns are the same, but I don't think that any of the stock mounts will fit a 2 wheel drive truck because they have braces that extend back on the outside of the frame.

I am sure that the Fisher mount would be hard to make work. The Western (but you can only get a unimount) could be made to work. The old Dodge Meyers set-up, too, could be made to work. Blizzard could probably be modified to work, I think, but have never installed one, so I'm trying to remember the pictures from their manual.

I made up my own ultramount receiver. It was a little more fab time than I had expected, because I had to hang it down below the front spring pivots . . . If you are willing to fabricate some, it should be quite do-able to put a plow on the 2X4, but it won't just bolt on.
