How do you determine how much has been lost? Then, which is easier/harder, restoring what's there or transplanting everything to a better frame? Seems like everything has to come off the frame to do it right if the frame is still strong enough for 3,000 lbs of camper in the bed.
I don't know the answer to your question about which is easier/harder, but I will be moving the most of the parts from my current truck, except the trans and transfer case to a virtually rust free chassis in the near future, so I should have a good idea after that.
