Can a dana 70 locker be machined to fit a dana 71 carrier? I have the 3.07 and to much power for one tire to handle. If anyone has any insite I would be very happy.

 

Dont know, But i would look into some sort of limited slip or a true track set up,,,,,, If the 70 is a true locker, You may have front end plowing issues while accelerating on a bend,,, May be real hairy in the rain or snow,,, I have a limited slip, and if i hit the skinny in 4th on a wet road Both rears will spin, and i start to crab the back end.

I would also recommend a limited slip, unless your truck is a offroad trail only rig. If that is the case, just weld the spiders and be done.

 

I agree I would love to find a limited slip but from what I have heard they are not available. If you guys know where I can find one!!!!!!

 

put a factory unit in it and shim it a little tighter. mines got the factory sure-grip and it works great.
