I was very unimpessed with that joke of a sled last night and I dont think I will be taking my truck to Deleon again. By the time I got into bed, it was 5:20 am so I was a little tired today.
On a positive note...the fajitas at the fair were very good. It had been a year since I have had them and almost forgot how good they tasted.

1stgen545...sorry we didnt get to talk much, but there is a pull in valley mills on friday night.

Saw that the Valley Mills pull on the sign at their VFD yesterday. Haven't decided about going yet, may be out of town. Where are they having it at?

Hey 1stgen, a buddy I work with lives there. He said that he thinks its near the river, somewhere near the fairgrounds. He said that its a tractor pull but they pull trucks too. As far as the setup goes, you got me, Im going to go check it out though. Its too close not to, Plus if Needmo' is going itll be worth it.

There is also a pull in stephenville at the rodeo arena on 205. Its sept 1st starts at 7:30 and pays top 4. Be a good get together I think its the TTTPA pulls and they seem to have there Edit together! If you need more details pm me and I can give you some more info. This will be just trucks and hot rod tractors not antiques. They are all good guys who are really working on there pulls. I will be there to support them. J7 is sponsering the truck part of the pulls. The payout as follows 1st= 150.00 2nd=75.00 3rd=50 4th=25.00 entry fees are 30.00. Let me know if yall need more info.

I enjoy watching the antiques but the last stephenville pull was ridiculous when they pulled over and over again for 6 hours before the trucks could ever start.

I have pulled at Deleon several times before and it was never even close to this bad. It was all the sled operator and the junk sled. If you had stayed we got our $$ back after the sled broke at about 3:30 (2 pulls after mine). He wanted to see a drivers license to get any $$ and acted like we were taking the food out of his mouth. Last year it was an old sled that had to be pulled back with a tractor and it was about 10X faster that way. It only happened saterday night because the sled has to go the MO. That's why we usually pull on thursday and friday night beause you get to use the Iornman sled and all the other guys are still working the track. I will be going to the Sep. 29th pull that is supposed to be across the road and give it a try. The guy with the HX-40 was being a butt and trying to get me disqualified because when they checked my hitch height on a slope with rocks and grass it showed to be 1" over after I set it on a flat slab at a perfect 26". He was saying that the rules say it is 26" max, I thought about saying it also says you have to run a stock turbo b/c I had heard he was running a 40 last year. They let me pull down on a flat spot and I was at 26" so it was fine but don't try to go out of your way to get me tossed when you aren't exactly legal. Its all for fun anyway. I dont care about the $$$. I was just there for a good time until other people start getting attitudes and want to be jerks. Also I have a correction, I pulled 269ft and 266ft friday and 188ft after I went over the mounton on the track satreday.

The pull in Valley Mills is next to the river.. if you go East out of town on Hwy56, just past the river there is a gravel road to the right.. Its a few 100 yrds down the road.. (it runs right into it.) Normally you can see cars and trucks from 56.. but it is off the road...
There are some other events coming up in the area.. (Check out the Pulling Forums.. TTTPA events..)
I think we might see that sled sometime in the future.. It an old sled that hadn't been used in about 15 yrs+.. Just not the place to take a sled to get the kinks worked out..
If we go to DeLeon, we'll be there on Friday night next time..

PM me for the Saturday pull video--it's a good video but a guy in the background said one word that I can't post on here (unless Dave wants to look and give the OK) it's hard to hear it, but it's on there and I don't want to get in trouble again.

No.. I have not been when they have used Gary's sled... but it was basically run what you brung... Sometime they broke them up in to Duallies, and single wheels... but it could be singles.. and twins... Probably won't be much there for twins.. unless the guys from West Texas Diesel show up.. or Buck.. I know Zack Hamilton is very close to having his truck finished... but I didn't ask him what he is running for a turbo (or turbos) Knowing Zack.. if he shows.. his truck will be the truck to beat... And he will probably bring a few other truck with him..

I know Zack I was finishing TSTC Diesel when Zack 1st got there. He told me that his truck should be ready, He didnt get to pull at Deleon becose his brother put the top on his 4500 wrong and it was shifted into 5th all the time and had to remove the trans to fix it and was out of time. I'm glad I just pull for fun If they let those guys pull with the rest of us. Do you know if there is a rule on waight or hitch hight and things like that.

I hope they have some rules.. but I don't expect any... Not sure about Valley Mills... Been thinking I might bring the Old tractor... No clue if the truck will come... If so we'll be weighted.. and hitched... but our little VE wont have a chance against Zacks P-pump....

Do you think they will cancel with all the rain? Its only about 15miles straight shot from my house and I have got a lot of rain. Dont count on the P-pump taking the VE every time I have seen Zack pull he is having trouble getting it to run right for one reason or another but he may have all the bugs out with this truck.
