ok so the other day i was rideing with my uncle in his 96 powerstroke, and i mentioned something to him and he asked was mine direct injected or intake injected, and i didnt know. could someone help me out

 

Your's, ours, are all direct injected. The power stroke is also.
I think your uncle is thinking about indirect injection like the older 7.3 and 6.9L engines used in the fords up till 93/94.

 

yeah thats what i thought but hes like in the top 5 or 10 Honda mech.s in the southeast region, and im just a 16 year old. not really much to work with, he also said the furd never put cummins in them, and that the pansystroke was made by international harvestor, is this correct?

 

He's pretty much correct, Ford never put a cummins in a pickup truck, but F600/650 and larger trucks could be ordered with them though. Yep, the powerstroke and its predecessors was made by IH, which is Navistar now days.
