Lighting

Hey guys i need a little bit of help with the lighting on my truck. i have a 92 250 that i bought about 8 months ago. It had a snow plow on it when i got it and whom ever put it on did a hack job on the wiring harness for the lights. This is the first dodge iv ever owned and im rewireing the turn signals and headlights. I need to know wether the lights on the fenders and the lights under the headlights are running lights or turn signals or both???The lights didnt work when i got the truck and like i said, iv never owned one of these before. Thanks for the help.

Correct, sort of.

The big lights under the headlights are BOTH parking lights and signals, having double-element 1157-type bulbs.

The fender-mounted side marker lights are 194-type single-element bulbs.

They are wired such that they are grounded through the flashing side of the front bulb.

When the front bulb flashes, the side-marker temporarily loses it's ground and goes out, giving the impression that it also flashes.

I am 87.2% sure of my above statement.

Good point. The markers and front lights do alternate flashing. Never thought about how it works, but your description makes sense to me.
