Re:Lift Kits

You can find them for 3/4 and 1 ton, but hard to find for a Diesel. You have to worry about the extra weight and for body lifts I think it'll interfere with the intercooler. You have to consider with the extra torque of these engines, these companys would be taking on the added liability of axle wrap under load.

Re:Lift Kits

Skyjacker still sells lifts for 1st gens. You won't see it on their
site but they will set you up if you contact them. 2.5" / 4" and 6" are the sizes as far as I know.

mark
PDR - Black Sheep Racing

Re:Lift Kits

I have run a set of custom springs from National Spring for 10 years now on my early 89. I run Rancho 9000 shocks. Front springs have 13 leaves, and rears have 10. There are no liftblocks in the rear. The ride is very nice, and axel hop is a thing of the past. I have run my truck hard and have never had a problem with these springs. National spring will make your springs just the way you like them.

Re:Lift Kits

I would like to know who actualy has SkyJacker springs on their truck. I am considering getting a set but I have my concerns regarding sagging.

I currently have a popup camper sitting on my bed and do not want to end up with a saggy rear due to springs that are too soft. But I do like the price of the SJ springs.

Also, I'd like to know if you can run 35's with the 1" or do you need to go w/2.5

Thanks,

Joe V

Re:Lift Kits

Hey Viking -- what are the specs on your rear springs? (# leaves, leaf thickness, center to eye length, arch, etc.) I would love to take the blocks off of my truck, especially as the thing sits low in the rear already.

Thanks,

Alec

Re:Lift Kits

I do not have the SJ lift yet but am planning on doing so with the 2.5 . I have a buddy who has a 1st Gen. with this set up on his and he carries a 200 gal. waste oil tank and pumps in his all the time and has had it this way for 2 yrs. adn no sagging at this time and the ride is great .. he says he has no loss in load cap. either .. hope this helps ..good luck Ace
