I done a 4in lift on mine.I used the easy ride springs from skyjacker and i love it.Just make sure your front end is in good shape tie rod ends, steering box, pitman arm,exc..... It drives better now than when stock.I run a 315/75r16 tire. It still fits though a standard size garage door.

I ahve done several lifts the last one was a 8 inch set of front springs and blocks in back then I also did the crossover steering set/up made the truck ride nice and made it even steer even better then factory use sky jacker springs and a good set of shocks you will be fine .In my eyes a lifted truck rides alot better then stock .Try it for your self and go from there I don't think you will regret it

Skyjacker 6" soft ride

Crossover steering, box the frame around the steering box and you got a good ride'n truck that steers better then new.

My only recommendation would be to toss the skyjacker drop pitman arm and get the superlift drop for a ford, lightly shave for clearance (when I boxed the frame, it did not need clearancing).

Why box the frame I had my truck for 18 yrs and Never cracked a frame head .yes I have heard of doing that but on a street truck it sounds to me like a little overkill .after switching to crossover steering I also didnt have any problem's with truck not turning either made a world of a difference .

I can understand Cummins Freaks argument. It puts additional stress and wear on components, especially coupled to larger/heavier wheels and tires. Not saying I havent lifted my vehicles before, but more often than not I have regretted it. If I had a dedicated trail vehicle then its OK but....thats different. Its also shown that a lift will generally hurt resale value, but not as bad on our 1st gens cause they are great in any condition.

yup mike thomas has it dead on for a street truck DD set it up as such maybe little bigger tires and ahole lot of go fast pull hard parts will serve you way better. a lift on the street is just a mistake. I dont really know how to explain it other then it sure looks cool but try driving it that way everyday and fixing all the little stuff that will nickel and dime yo uto death faster then your power addiction.

That said look what yo uare being told to do..Crossover steering, different lift parts from different trucks grind here for clearence, and BOX your frame come on who really wants to do that to a DD.

When I boxed the frame I was able to rid myself of the piece of junk adapter plate....
