I WANT MY TRUCK!!
Well here is the latest, I got the frame pulled back into specs. over 2 weeks ago, I got a new OEM heavy duty step bumper. I got them to check every weld and rivet on the chassis for fractures when the frame shifted. (I was under the rack with the body shop manager taking pictures.) It should have been ready to go then but I inspected it and I found the fiberglass shell had a stress fracture on the back right corner and I would not accept it. I called the insurance adjuster and he said there was no way that was caused from the accident and that I must have removed the shell and dropped it.. I had just gotten the truck out of the shop 3 weeks before from the last accident. No way possible, I have 6 ruptured disk and in 1999 I had broke my back in a major accident that totaled my Chevy 6.2. I did the run around with the adjuster and he insisted there was no way a 50 MPH impact could cause it. Even the bodyshop thinks he is nuts. I checked the rear of the truck and I found broken spot welds at the rear bed frame behind the tail light I got alot of pictures also of where you can see impact marks where the frame flexed up 2 " and hit the the bottom of the bumper then relaxed. The broken welds are directly under the fracture in the camper shell.. I said I won't talk to the man since he cannot even think logically and got the supervisor. I told him what was going on and he was really nice., I said I will send him some pictures of the reason it broke. Said OK. I sent him 20 Jpeg's with circles and arrows and he was amazed. He said after looking at the pictures it's quite obvious it was from the accident. It will be fixed. Of course now this is 2 days before Christmas. So now the repair on the shell is complete and is awaiting the aluminum rail that no one can find. Looks like I should have it out by this Wed. or Thurs. Hope.....
Then on Monday, Enterprise Car Rental called and said " Were calling to remind you that your rental ran out on the 13th. and you owe $300.00. Said the insurance company had not been able to get ahold of you for over a week. Funny I have been in contact with them EVERY day for 2 weeks now and I have it all documented including names , time and what we were talking about. So I called the adjuster and somehow now we dont' owe a thing on the truck.
There must have been someone trying to save the company and thought they could pull one over on me. The body shop manager told him "you tried with the wrong person, Jim knows every inch of his truck and this truck is in showroom condition hey even the flats of the bolts all line up."
I just want my truck back..... I miss the smell of diesel exhaust. I find myself rolling down the windows when I go past transit busses or stopping at fires where the rigs are idling. Think I am loosing it.
The Silverado they gave me is nice and quiet and I can hear my phone ring but the stiff seats are starting to kill my back plus the fact I keep dozing off at stop lights. Also when I get food at the drive throughs I have to retrain them and tell them what I want. They always know my order when the truck rattles the building and they pull off their headsets. But they all smile and say it's neat, (and it's usually the girls). All of the neighbors ask when I will get it back because when they here me come, they know it will be safe now, and they can go to sleep.

The body shop is giving my old bumper back so I will have a good one to $??$ to any locals in need.

Hey, what time do most of you go the bed or get up? I notice I will post about 4:30 / 5:00 A.M. PST and it seems a lot of you are already awake. I get up around 11:00 A.M. and go to bed around 5:00 A.M.

I might take you up on that bumper if the insurance company im dealing with ever stops dragging their feet.
