I got tired of looking at the wife's old and bent cookie sheet holding my air filter so I bought a 20 Quart stainless steel stock pot for ten bucks and installed it after some modification. It looks a whole lot better and the BHAF is staying completely dry. It seems to help a little with the egt's because I cut out the intake port near the bottom to take advantage of the cold air coming in at the factory holes in the front panel. I don't think the cookie sheet mount for the BHAF was big enough to act as an effective heat shield.

 

I'll bet it's cool.

 

What injectors did you finally settle on? Did you get rid of the 190s?

I have an extra temp sensor (dipstick) that I was going to try and hang on the outside and then the inside of the intake just out of curiosity and for kicks.
