Just scored a factory\dealer installed tach
Just scored a tach for my truck, went to the junk yard for a throttle bracket and found a tach, asked the guy how much and was expecting to hear in the 100 dollar range and was blown away when he said 10 bucks.
i tried to hide my excitement after he told me that lol.

yup i got everything for it, had to solder the light wires backtogether because i didn't have pick with me to take the back of the plug apart because we weren't expecting to get a tach which wasn't to big of a deal.....chrislib i think i'll have to pass on your offer lol.
Everytime I go to a junk yard, all I find are parts that are more worn out than the ones I'm trying to replace. A tach, are you kidding me? And paid a whole $10.00, ain't that a kick in the pants. If I was to score a $10.00 tach from a bone yard, when I plugged it in, my truck would burn to the ground.

So, after 20 years, does it still work? 20 years seems to be a barrier on a lot of electronic devices made in the early 90's. I'm expecting to start seeing a lot of threads on here titled something like "My Factory Tach Quit Working"
Solder joints corrode, resistors rise in value, electrolytic capacitors go down in value resulting in transistors and integrated circuits receiving voltage spikes, etc. I've had various electronic devices that have failed from just setting around here in the house that were in new condition when I purchased them. Nothing made by man lasts forever.

Haven't gotten around to see if it works (had to pull my cousins chevy malibu out of the ditch and fix the left front spindle and axle) but I pulled it from a 90? I believe and i noticed my trucks plug is flat and this ones square but wire colors are the same...that's if I found the right plug in mine.
