Its like my truck is shutting off??????
Problem: The engine acts like I turned the key off and it loses power until I take my foot off the throttle, then she runs again.
When: The first time it did this was about two months ago when the outside temp went below freezing. When it happened then I was just leaving my house, the engine was cold and I was at low speed shifting to get up to speed. It only acted like that two times in a row that time. The second time this occurred was this Saturday. I was on the interstate and driving about 70-75mph. The truck was well up to temp and I had been on the road for a while. Outside temp again had dropped to freezing. This time it shut down several times and I had to feather the throttle slowing me down to about 45-50 for about two miles. Then for the last 4 miles of the trip it was fine, even Sunday morning it ran without doing this.
Question: Does anyone have any idea where I should start looking or did this happen ever happen to any of you? I was thinking that shut down solenoid but, I'm not sure.
Thanks

OK, good thanks! Is there a way of by passing that selonoid if I had to? You know, if I were on the side of the inerstate or such. I had an old Detroit with a shut down solenoid, I replaced wires and conections and it still left me stranded several times till I replaced the solenoid.

About a month or two ago when the fuel gelled.Around the same time this started. I think it was you that suggested the filter with out the sensor on it and that's the one I put in. The wires on my sensor have been broken since I bought the truck so I didn't need it anyway.

I forgot to add I have only put about two or three tanks of fuel threw that filter, and filled up before I started driving Saturday. Had almost 200 miles into the take before it started acting up.

It's very rare that they fail to open. More often than not, they fail to shut off the fuel (torn rubber plunger tip) after folks turn up the main fuel screw.

Awesome! Thank you! I'm gonna keep that info in the glove box. The only time I touched my fuel screw was installing my 366 spring. I never removed the sleeve and I think I counted the turns when I removed and installed it, so I'm good there.
- Remove solenoid, remove internal plunger and spring, and reassemble without electrically connecting the solenoid itself.

Not yet. I called him last week and he told me the new pop-tester that was sent to him was bad also. So he asked me to give him a few weeks and to check in this week. In fact you just reminded me to send him an email as to his progress.
