intercooler tubes-exhaust pipe

I am wondering if I can use exhaust pipe for intercooler tubes? What kind of coating can I use to prevent rust? Thank you guys.

yeah you can use it. some people trip off of the bends but unless your making insane power its not an issue. you could get stainless or aluminized steel. i would just spray some rust preventative paint on the outside

It'll work just fine. Use engine paint on the tubes, the hot side pipe can get pretty toasty if you are working the truck.

The stock exhaust pipe (3") is stainless steel anyway so just clean it up good and use engine paint good to 500*.

Just don't try to paint galvanized pipe. The paint will peel off. Most exhaust pipe is aluminized so it probably won't be an issue.
