Alright, my "bad" injector reads: "937" inside an oval border. Up top is has "8965". Also says "KDAL 59 P 9 171 245 bar"
I pulled an injector from my brother's donor and its the same except instead of "171" it has a "266" and the copper washer is thinner. I was going to use this until I got new 190s but since its not identical I don't know if its the same and what effect that will have with the five "171"s?
Anybody know what these numbers mean? Can I still use it with the others?

I doubt it could hurt anything, 'specially if you're only running it for a short while waiting for new replacements. Heckuva lot better than running it with a bad injector, if you absolutely must drive the truck while waiting.
Dave has the same torque wrench I do!

I sent the guy an email, but never got a response. Since I didnt have the cash on hand to buy any, I didnt call, either. I'm curious what his internal injector modifications are.
I will agree with the spring pressures- the only NEW set of sticks I ever got had lower pop pressure within 4mo. DonM redid them, but it seemed like it was a hassle for him, and even after the clean and reset, they werent as good as stock.
The black carbon on the tip of the injector is normal and means absolutely nothing. The only way to test it is on a test stand. If the parts truck injectors have the same number of holes, I dont see why you cant run it. But the line-crack method is about as poor a method as I can think of for finding a bad injector. Not to say you cant find a REALLY bad injector, but you can also get a lot of "good" injectors that actually arent.

So do all new injectors get weak and erratic after a few months? I don't see how that could be the norm, but then again, thats why I'm posting questions here

They should arrive tomorrow. I'll install 'em Friday and then haul a load of cows.
Puckett, are you saying that the 190s are marine injectors?

Swapped in the 190s. Real easy with Pred's homemade puller. Seems to run quiter now? I backed off the smoke screw a little. RPMs went down about 50, which I don't really understand.
Only problem is I have two intectors that still weep a little at the line connection. Any tricks to stopping that? The directions from PDR say not to just keep tightening but to remove line and start again which I've done several times already.
Once I'm used to these injectors I'll do the gov spring!
