Initial thoughts

Ok, so they are in and here is the wrap up/initial thoughts. The truck as it sat had the stuff in my sig, the injectors had about 20K-ish on them (give or take a few thousand miles). The truck had developed a few driveability issues over the last year or so. POD haze on steroids! I would have to bump into neutral and raise the RPM`s @ stoplights/in traffic to LESSEN the acrid plume that followed me everywhere I went,it never went away totally and was the cause for many many dirty looks from my fellow drivers (you know, the kind that roll up their windows...even on a beautiful spring/fall day to avoid being gassed by noxious diesel haze....oopsie). Truck had developed a very noticeable miss at idle. The fuel economy, not that I track it on paper had fallen noticeably. Overall the thing ran poorly/stinky and lacked the power it had when I 1st put the PODs in. These new sticks however...holy (lack of) smokes!! I put them in, leaving all other settings as they were (pump timed to the head, idle screw in to about 900-1000 with the PODs in). Fired it up, ck`ed for leaks (none) and took it out for a spin. 1st impression other than a far more even/smoother/clean idle was idle EGT`s down by about 100 to 200deg, out on the road the bottom end sogginess was still there (too much timing IMO) but overall the thing pulled better/cleaner/smoother (seeing a pattern yet, lol?). Low throttle/cruise EGT down about 100-ish. Butt dyno says power up slightly but not drastic, WOT smoke down to an initial blast of black/gray that QUICKLY clears up to a modest gray plume (a GOOD thing IMO). WOT EGT with the timing @ the head I did not get a chance to note as Mr. Gendarme was about and I don`t want any tickets :-). Took it back home and rolled back the timing to the standard 1/8 in bump, re-adj the idle speed down a hair and readjusted the throttle and TV cable settings. Back out on the road I went, immediately (as in backing out the driveway) I noticed throttle response WAAY up (hooray for a sane amount of timing), took off down the road with a HUGE smile on my face...I really do NOT like big timing driveability, the truck is SOO much more responsive down low (where 95% of my driving is done). The backed off timing showed all EGT`s up a bit as expected, idle is back to around 300, cruise/part throttle back to around 600-800, and WOT peaked at 1300 but I got out of it because I was frikkin flying (that whole ticket thing again). Around town driving does indeed find the turbo lighting easier/sooner but that was never a real issue with the truck but a nice little side benefit. Peak boost that I saw was in the 30-ish range, the PODs could bury my 35lb. gauge if I kept in it long enough but I backed out of it before that today although I suspect peak boost #`s not too drastically different than before. All in all I am SUPER happy with these injectors, almost to the point that I was going to finally put in the 3200 spring I have sitting here but due to the lack of the proper allen wrench and diminishing daylight and time I think I might just wait till I put my spare pump on.

Oops, I meant to say 4x12s. That's all I've ever heard too.

Sounds like they are a good set of injectors. Where or who did you pick these up from and, if you don't mind me asking, how much did they run you?
