Yup, it'll work you'll just be on the high egt side of the air/fuel mixture

From what Ive read the 12 is the way to go cause our trucks don't make power in high rpm so we need the turbo to spool early. I intend on that turbo pretty soon. Go ahead and get it, then let me if I should.

Spend it wise the first time. The only injectors known for making good HP in a 1st gen (400+hp) have been made by Scheid Diesel and John Russin at Buddha Power. The Scheid sets are a little cheaper though. JAyers made 500hp with a Scheid set with a single turbo. I'm pretty sure his single turbo was a 62/71/14. Don't get the 62/65 or as HTT calls it, the htb2. You'll want the s300 with the big turbine wheel (71mm).

I'm not sure the 12cm2 would be an ideal setup with an auto though. It would spool quickly, but it would probably get hot fast. Especially with that much fuel. I think the 14 or 16cm2 housing is usually preferred for auto trucks. Are you going to buy locally? If so, where from?

S300 with 62mm compressor wheel, 71mm turbine wheel, 14cm housing. You don't want the 16cm housing with the s300.

I am running a 64/71/14 so it is slightly larger then the turbo you are considering. I run 6-18 injectors which lay A LOT of fuel/smoke. I called BD and am waiting for a price to go bigger on the turbo. Possibly a 66 or maybe even bigger! The reason is I need more air and it'll be a bit before I can get the twins done.

So my truck (see sig) this weekend did some towing and my numbers are as follows:

Towing 5000lbs with a very heavy headwind
egts 950-1050
boost 20lbs
speed 75mph
ambient temp 72deg
I could cruise and things were fine but even moderate acceleration caused boost and egts to sky rocket. Very easy to push the truck past 1300deg with 30secs of moderate acceleration. Over all though it towed well with engine temps staying average.

Towing 11000lbs with a light tail wind
egts 900-1000
boost 14lbs
speed 75mph
ambient temp 54deg
I could still peg the pyro but the cooler temps and lack of a head wind made towing the heavier load easier. The truck used less fuel and the engine temperature was still fine.

So based on the info above I would go with a 64mm or 66mm comp wheel because my truck seems to make real good power and still tows well. The 6-16 sticks your considering may bring your egts down slightly as well. If a person had a 5spd the 12cm turbine would probably be pretty good but with an auto I would run the 14cm for sure. The only thing to also consider is I have a cam and ported head. These will bring down egt's and bring on boost a little faster.

Sorry for the short story.

NO. Most likely it's a 62 with the 65mm high drive pressure turbine wheel. Then coming from that camp, it's probly a machined or stock Scwitzer non-wastegated turbine. You don't want a non gated housing. Find a HTT dealer nearest you by going to their website and looking for a dealer www.htturbo.com. Or give Mark a call at TDI in Indianapolis, IN 800-232-2834. He's building 62,64,66/74 s300's at good prices compared to online vendors.

The ats manifold will work with T3 turbochargers.

Yes their 71 series turbos. Yes it will work with an ats manifold. Do you already have one? If no and your stocker isn't cracked, leave it alone IMO.

Just about all vendor s300's will have a hx40 machined housing to work with a hx40 downpipe.
