More than likely a starter contact issue.

well i originally thought that but i think it may be something in the wiring or maybe the ignition its self. what do you think?

No matter what anybody thinks, it's just a SWAG (scientific wide angle guess) at this time. You need to do some testing to determine the bad component.

Put a meter or light on the solenoid (small) terminal. If it lights and the solenoid clicks, the solenoid (starter) is bad. If it doesn't, the switch might be bad.

Odds are with the solenoid.

I rebuilt my solenoid with the Larry B's kit and it really improved it.

Now it just cranks slow on occasion - about 1/2 the time. Thinking maybe brushes may have to go in now.
