Talking I like craigslist

Found a guy for parts on craigs list. Drove 2+ hours to get parts today. Ended up with 2 doors with all electrics in it, lights i needed, intercooler setup, and a hx35 with a banks bighead 14 on it. Got it all for $600, all in good shape, except the doors metalwork. He also has the manual swap I need. Said he'd give me everything I need (and pulll it himself0 for the swap, including tranny, pedal kit, slave cylinder, clutch, flywheel, etc. etc. for $600, $300 if I bring him my auto when its all done. craigslist.com is the best thing to happen to first gens since this site.

If that price includes the transmission, you had better left the rest of the stuff and not left there without it at that price.

If I could find a deal like that so close to me, I would be on it like a duck on a bug.

Glad you said that. I was about to do a post asking if I could keep my 3.07s. Guess I can huh? Probably be quicker off the line than my auto.

There's guys running 265's and 285's on 4x4's with 3.07's and a Getrag that have plenty of torque to get things moving, even with the taller gears. You should have no problems with a 2x4. Plus, 1600-something RPMs at 70 will likely net you a couple MPG

Speaking of a 3.07 swap Greg, should you buy a set of axles with em, whatcya gonna go with yer front??? Im sick n blasted tired of 2 wheel peel on a 6 wheeler!

How hard is it to convert to a 6x6 AND a single wheel axle to a dually?
I imagine a pain just for the parts!

I run 265s also. I figured the 3.07s with the getrag would def boost the mileage since Im pullin 2600rpm (some outrageous number like that anyway) at 70 and getting 16-17.
