I have a tach from a 92 will i be able....

I have a tach and pick up from a 92. Does my pre 91.5 have the notches in the in the vibration damper required to work? I don't have the truck at my house to look. Also where can I get a wiring diagram of which wires are for tach operation and which are dash illumination?

Was this tach a stock option on a 92? I has a single straight bracket with a twist in it, was mounted besides the steering column on the right side. Looks stock to me.

okay i found the sticky telling me the wiring at the back of the tach.

BK- Ground
OR- IGN (i asuume)
GR/LB- PCM signal
RD- Fused Battery (i assume)

And the fact that the signal is provided by the PCM. Is there a way to bypass the PCM being my truck is a 91. I can't find pick up side wiring. Should be a power, signal return, ground. I thought I saw in a thread that the power provided by the PCM is 5 volt.

Have I been correct thus far?

I am thinking the dakota digital tach signal box would work for me. I have sent a email off to them. Should be a while before I hear back if there product will work the way I want it to.

It will only work on '92 and '93 trucks.

i should be able to get the stock 92 tach to work in my 91 if i get the DSL-2. but that will involve mounting a sender to read off the flywheel. doesn't look like i will be able to use the stock CPS like i hoped i could.
