It was what got me started on diesels. It was alright I just beat the K5 it was in offroad. Then the 6.2 predictably blew the crankshaft to pieces a few months later. The 21mpg was nice compared to the 8mpg I had in my V8 S10.

 

SWEET I should really be able to arouse the neighbors at 230 in the morning then, they all are complaining about it nowand it isnt even my straigtpiped cummins its my 90 decible car, but the torked me off by complaining to the cops which we have no noise ordinances or smog ordinances so the neighbors can burn in hell

 

I haven't got the stacks in yet , but the hole is cut in the bed and the y pipe is sitting in there. I have 50" between the sides and can haul plywood ,drywall, ect. Height is about 11" from the shelf up. I can't find time to finish!....................bp

 

My dad and I did a Cummins conversion on an 85 crew cab, and we ran the stacks with the y pipe under the truck so that you see just the stack on each side of the bed. I can try to take some pictures underneath the truck to show you, and he hasn't had any problems with the fuel tank melting.

Yes the plastic fuel tank could be compromised by running stacks close to it. However , Air is a great insulator so as long as you aren't touching and you have some good airflow through there it will be OK.
