The VE is pretty good, but the P-pump is nearly bulletproof. I'd take a VE over a VP44 any day, though.

Sure is. I just went by there again yesterday. Thats kinda 1st gen country though. Counting that one, I saw 3 in 2 miles from each other.

The Banks Power Pack consisted of . . . bigger intercooler, 14cm exaust housing, full exaust, K & N, gauges & turning up pump. I installed the kit on my truck when dad got it . . runs very nice. Really livens up those gutless auto trucks. :-)

Actually, since about mid-winter, all E-BAY auto bids don't show the bidder's identity.

They just show bidder 1, bidder 2, bidder 3; then, if bidder 1 bids again, he will show up as bidder 1.

This was supposedly done to protect bidder's privacy.

The actual lister/seller can see the actual screen-names of bidders.

It's probably not a bad truck, but not for over 11 grand with that kind of mileage.

How about this view....if that truck will get that price, what does it do for the value of the trucks sitting in your driveways? I say bring it on. So, when the cell phone talkin', kid haulin', makeup applyin' momma (or dad?!)...or the no driven' experience, all knowin', bullet proof teenager, or any other combination thereof, slams into your truck, there is some proof to what it would cost to replace/repair your truck. We all know what insurance companies try to pull when it comes time for them to pay up. The more ammunition against those clowns the better. Market price is a pretty good argument.
I personally hope he gets what he wants.

My thoughts, almost exactly.

I would rather buy one of these trucks for less than three thousand; but, a decent one, not needing a ton of expensive work on it, will easily fetch over seven.

The seller couldn't even wait until the water dried under the hood to snap the picture. Seems he was trying a little too hard to make it look good. If he pulls underhanded salesman tricks things like that what mechanical issues is he hiding? And for that price? I like the first gens, but I've seen alot of second gens I like alot more that I could get for just a little bit more money.

I have to agree 100% But over all it just sucks because now we gotta dig even deeper into our wallets for another one, or god forbid, replace one.

But more perticularly, this one. Lots of suspisous used car dealer tricks, and for 12 grand!

Then go get a 2nd gen. if that is what you want.

That guy couldArmor alls the exhaust system and it wouldn't matter. The more he gets the better my argument with the insurance man when someone ruins my good thing.

Some of these trucks you cannot replace on a whim. "Good ones" is subjective.
What is a drivetrain tweaked to your particular needs worth? What is "sweat equity" worth?

If you were to take a $4500.00 truck and bring it back to dependable work truck level, what would you spend? Then, take that truck to a daily driver. Then re-do the interior. How many real dollars do you have invested? Add labor. Your personal time has a value, usually, it is worth more than what the man pays you. Leave out of the equation the fact that you really like the truck and it is what you want vs. what they are offering(anyone with venture capital, manufacturing plant, and bribe money out there? I gotta plan ). What is it worth to you that you can actually work on your own truck without the special (electronic) tool. How much is it worth now?
A catastrophe is what it would take to sale my truck, or an upgrade to a repowered, '85 crew cab, 4x4.....EDIT. Bring it on!
