Unhappy HTT Stage IV No More question

I am thinking about doing a stage IV upgrade but I was wondering if this will be a probem to put on considering that my truck is non ic. Any advice will be very helpful. I just don't want to waist my time. Also will this be a big improvment with my 18cm. I would rather not change that because I plan on getting a 5th wheel camper in the future and don't want to hurt my towing capabilities.

Thanks Ryan

i am currently running a stage 3 with my non-ic setup and saw a very large drop in EGT compared to the stock setup. about the only think that makes the stage 3 or 4 upgrade is that the intake is 4 inch where as yours is 3inch. that can be solved easily enough with a BHAF and intake tube (look in the sticky) other than that i don't believe they make a stage 4 that connects with the stock boot, you have to get some kind of silicone adapter to make it work. I believe the stage 3 has options for either outlet (IC or non IC)
hope this helps!

You can get a intake elbow off a Freighliner (Bgilbert may still have one for sale), and a turbo oulet elbow from a intercooeld truck. Take some pipe and some silicone hose and make a "custom" deal. JLEONARD has some mice detailed pics of his.

Another option for the intake elbow is to get another spacer for the grid heater (remove one set of heaters) and stack them so a stock 1stGen IC elbow will fit. Wont be quite as big as from the medium duty truck, but can work, too.

Be sure the elbow from the medium duty truck faces sideways; some of them faced forward, and as such, wont work for coming from the side.

Or you can just add an intercooler at the same time.

The HX35 or Wh1c Is a huge improvment over the H1C. I was running mine in stock form and upgraded to the WH1C. I keep hearing how restrictive the 12CM housing is, but I love it. Plus I lost a good 100* so if im still getting restriction, I may have even more to lose by going to a larger exhaust housing. I still wouldnt go over a 14CM in my opinion. With a 5speed ya gotta spool it 5 times, so a larger housing (over 14) wont do me much justice.

With my settings (maxed) I see 37PSI on a good hard ROMP, but daily, nothing over 20-25, with the wastegate blocked. The WH1C has a larger compressor, and wheel, so the H1C compressor WILL NOT fit the W. I tried.
Go for a WH1C. For the price of a HTT housing, you can have a good complete WH1C.

What trans r u running? Auto, you could put the 18.5 on the W and not have to worry. Manual, well I am going to be experimenting shortly here, Greg (G1625S) is going to be borrowing my 12 W.G housing for a while, and im going to put my old 18.5 on for comparisson.

I installed the stage lll kit onto my non IC truck, It is a good improvement, It will help lower your charge temp, and moves plenty of air for the stock injectors! But you will still hit 1500 egt with the pump turned all the way up, You rig will be swift!
It will be faster than an IC truck with bosch 190s
The NON IC rigs have a healthy injector, Add some water/meth, and you will see your egt in the 1000 range under full acceleration in 5th!

pred i also saw a huge improvement with stage 3 on my non ic (running PODs too) i'd love to swap on a stage 4 just to see how much difference it makes but that's an awful lot of work (and money) just to see.

AT that point you will be looking at the restriction of the cross over pipe.
I stayed with the stage lll because i didn't want to fab up a 3" cross over.
I think that the stage lV would be a waste of money with the stock crossover intake!
But that is only my thought.

Unhappy No More H1C HTT Upgrades

Well guys now I have a major delema HTT does not have any H1C upgrade kits and they said they will not be getting any, he told me that they are going to discontinue that line of upgrades. So now what do I do. Any suggestions would be greatly appriciated.

Thanks Ryan

Sounds like that is no worry, if they are discontinued. Guess my hx35w will have to satisfy me...

That is about the dumbest business move I have ever heard of, they were always behind in orders because of too much demand. They don't get them, they were manufacturing them. I guess they want to sell their upgraded turbos so they will drop the cheaper method of us upgrading. Just another case of ripping off the public I guess. I for one will not be doing any more business with HTT for sure.

I'm not going to go that far. I don't necessarily understand that move either, but I'll still do business with them.

For those who were previously considering a compressor upgrade, a good used HX35 is an alternative. It has a more efficient compressor than the H1C, as well as the 12cm housing.

You can still make a hybrid yourself (I think, I haven't done it yet) from other parts.

Same here, just got a tractor turbo back from them last week.
When I put my stage 4 upgrade on it helped, but ultimately I ended up jumping up to the larger turbo anyway. So now I have about $300 into a H1C that sits on my bench for right now.

Well that stinks, I called about two weeks ago and got put on a "list" for a stage IV, isn't this stuff off of an HX40. Can the parts be bought somewhere else? Anyone have part numbers. Turbosupply.net has a potload of parts if you know the part #s.
