Do I have the "guts to cut" and put the p-pump and 47rh in my 84 Crew 4x4?

What a decision. The ole 94 is clean. The P-Pump & 47rh are needed in a real truck. Flip the COIN and lets see if you have a p-pump & 47rh for the real truck or you have a clean ole 94 for a spare truck. Good luck.

Use...

Motor,Tranny (build it)

and use the rear, use the seats and sell off the rest of the body for $$$ because it looks clean.

Oh and use the wheels on the crew

Hey,

I'm my case, the answer to that question is shift it into 4th.

My 92 will toast the 96 hands down. Darn torque converters.

That truck looks way to straight to be parting it out. i'm going sat to look at a 99' gasser for my son, who will be driving this summer. He would love to have a cummins, i just can't see spending the $$$ on his first rig.

Man, THat 2nd gen looks too nice to rip it all apart.. Is there something wrong with it?? Whats the story with it? Salvage title, slight water damage lol. There has to be more to the story...

Being picky, the only thing i see wrong is a little rust on the doors..

The 94 has rust starting all over from the inside out. It was repainted sometime back and is really a pretty nice truck. It does have a tranny problem where the 1-2 2-3 shifts are at 2600 or more rpm until it is fully warmed up. O/D and lockup seem fine. Might be the governor in the tranny.

I might just drive it for a while to shake it out. It needs rear brake work first.

To all you 47RH owners, at what RPM does your tranny shift at with a light throttle opening? I have not played with my new truck at all yet.

Mine shifts pretty quick.. Hits O.D like at 1900 then drops to like 1500 then I lock it up and drops another 200-300 at 35-40mph..

That is with 4.10 gears and 35" tires

I have the tv cable disconnected and the it ends up leaving the lever in the middle.. it is my hillbilly version of a pressure lock!!

you can be in OD and locked at 35-40??? it must be my higher gears and tires. in order for me not to bog out and smoke out the highway i got to be going at least 50-55 to be locked in OD

1-3 gear shifts are dependent on the T.V. cable adjustment. Play around with it probably is just that. The OD is controlled by the PCM if stock.

i don't have a tach but mine will shift to 2 at about 12 mph and 3 at about 35 then i have my potentiometer set to shift into OD at 48ish
