How many have more than 500K miles?
Hey guys, I was talking with a friend the other day, and he was bragging about how many miles his construction crews put on their ford Powerstrokes. I had to deffend our turf, so I said the 250-350K mi. his Fords were getting is nothing for a Cummins, and I told him there are many Cummins equipped Dodge's with over 500k and many who are at or approaching 1million. He then proceeded to say I was full of cr@p. So I thought to ask the most appropriate owners here. I know some of you have this many miles, so speek up and be counted.

I got one customer that has over 600k on one of his work trucks (His duramaxs are falling apart @ 100k) , and another one with over 1 million miles that pulls a big horse trailer on a regular basis.

I watched a dyno run on a first gen that had 750,000 miles and still climbing. The owner is using it for business. They should outlast just about any imitation diesel. You know the ones, Powerjokes and Don'tlasts. Just jokin a little. Anything without spark plugs is better than with.

I didn't put them on but mine has over 400K. Runs good and gets about 14 mpg with a slush box. Can't complain.
I had a ford diesel with the 6.9 Didn't have a 100K and it wouldn't start in Colorado without being plugged in during the winter. That truck really nickeled and dimed me.

My dad works at Raz transportation and he says that many of their buses with b series cummins in them have over 600,000 miles on them and thats in a bus! He said that one of them ran out of oil a few years ago and they got it going again(without a rebuild) and to this day its still running with over 600k on it. He says most of the powerjokes go away at about 300k.

I busted the million mile mark 1,180,000 after 7 years of driving. What it doesnt show is for about 275-300 days a year the truck would idle 6-8 hours a day/night to run the A/C or heater....

THAT'S Impressive! Can you tell us what major component failed in that time, and for how much of the distance you were running the mods? Also, stick or automatic?
Thanks
