If I ever get near Buckeye, I'll pay up.

I don't care what my truck sounds like, as long as when I mat the throttle whatever I'm hooked up to follows me. Coming down the back side 6% with the PacBrake on she hisses like a snake, but 5 axles of wheel brakes get a rest most of the way.

24V

12V

Won't the difference in port shape...rectangular vs oval...cause all kinds of problems with flow characteristics?

I had a staright 3" exhaust on the crewcab, then a neighbor gave me a 4" stock muffler off his 03? cummins. I installed it and think it sounds really good. Nice deep rumble, and not raspy at all.

Don't think it has the sound your looking for though.

I do think parts for a 3rd gen exhaust (aftermarket is what i am after so far. My buddy left here yesterday in his 05 with aftermarket exhaust and its a lot throatier than any gen 1. Just lookin for the deepest bass note possible.

Thanks for all the input!

From what I've *heard*, no noticeable difference, I'm sure you could open up the ports/gasket a bit to help match the 12V head. You might be able to see something on a flow bench, but I don't know if either attribute out weighs the other, round hole vs a good flowing header.
