Hit the cop

My Grandpa was driving my truck to Southern States to get cattle feed and on the hill you have to pull out onto the hi-way and he didn't pay any attintion to the cop pulling in front of him to turn down the hill and he pulled out and hit him. 700 bucks worth of damage, frount bumper bent right good. Got it repainted and lookin GOOD! 1 week later he back down the driveway to get the garbage cans and hit a fence post on the passenger side!

I was at a family reunion recently and my Uncle whos getting up in years wacked a big blue US mailbox. Made a mess of his big ugly mirror on his 250. Lucky he didn't hit it with the truck just the mirror.

A little body damage is a small price to pay for your grandfathers dignity.

So should he let him keep his dignity until he pulls out in front of somebody that's not slowed down for a turn and kills a whole family?

I guess that's one of the things many of us will have to face one day...loosin' yer drivers license. It's like everything else, it hits different folks at different ages. While a big ol' Dodge has many blind spots, a Ram 50 or little S15 trucks are easier to manuver, see out from and some big mirrors & bright backup lights will help Grandpa stay in the drivers seat a little longer.

it's tough , i just had a freind get killed because an 89 year old man pulled out and cut him off when he (my friend) was on his motorcycle. i feel bad for the guy cause he obviously didn't mean to do it. but then on the other side my grandfather (who i never thought would admit it) is giving his car to my parents this weekend cause he doesn't want to hurt anyone (stuggles with blurred and double vision) i know it had to be VERY hard for him to come to that conclusion. i could say take the licence at a certain age (cause i'm only 22) but i know full well when i get up in years i probably won't let it go easily.
