HELP TRANNY is doing WEIRD things

Last weekend I dropped the pan and tightened the Bands..I had no torque wrench so I just tightened to hand tight and then backed off 2 turns...everything feels good except 3rd gear...NOW when it shifts into 3rd the RPM's will jump about 200 rpm then falls into gear?? thats under light throttle...if I give it more throttle it will rev higher before falling into gear..I also switched to RED LINE synthetic fluid...did I tighten the bands to tight?? ANY IDEAS.........thanks..its an A518.

I would say get a torque wrench right away before the bands burn up in there from not being torqued to the right inch lbs.

The front band is for second gear and rear for reverse so not the band. Fluid level all topped up, running in neutral.... ? Did it shift fine before? It might be the different fluid?
Adjusting the band might just change the time that it takes to come out of second, only other thing that comes to mind. Does it have a shift kit?

Today I loosened the front band 1/2 turn...no differance...Fluid level is topped off...Yes it shifted SMOOTH into 3rd before the changes..the tranny is a FULL DTT tranny..everything that he has for the A518...Maybe the BANDS were loose before?..GRAZY thing is I just pulled a HUGE trailer to a friends house and guess what...it shifted smooth into 3rd with a load on it..but then coming home still with the trailer it started shifting into 3rd as I described in my 1st post..fluid looks NEW and it seems to run fine other than the 3rd gear shift??? ANY other Ideas...thanks

Have you called DTT? It has always been my understanding that their support (before, during and after purchase / installation) is first class.

From: North Carolina or Kentucky. Take your pick
lMy thought is band too loose. This allows band to release before front clutch is close to locking up, hence a flare on upshift. Heavy throttle and fluid pressure compensates to get timing closer on release/apply.
