Question Headlight Switch

I need to replace my headlight switch. Is it worth the money to purchase a switch from the Dealer or would a Napa switch be almost as good?

Thanks

Though I don't have an older Dodge, I've used a headlight switch for my even older Jeep from Rockauto.com, and it's still holding up fine. I used one from Autozone once, and it didn't last more than 2 years if I recall. In fact, I've used a lot of parts from Rockauto.com, and I haven't had any negative results yet. I know other guys order parts from them too.

Not sure if this link will work, but I'll try:

I think your headlight switch is a 4565 320:

I've never had a problem with a headlight switch from NAPA.

What was wrong with the old one? Putting the headlights on relays is a good way to lessen the load carried by the factory undersized wires and ease the load on the switch.

I have been told that the aftermarket switched don't hold up nearly as good as the factory ones. That being said though, my NAPA replacement has been working flawlessly for over a year now.

If you were to install relays for your headlamps and running lamps there would be only a minimal current passed through the switch and it could very well be the last switch you will ever replace.

Not sure which country the aftermarket switches are made in but I have an Ignition switch from NAPA that is about 3 years old and is still working fine.
