So upsetting! The guy said he found multiple cracks around a few of the cylinders. He quoted me 650 for a new head and to swap the 60 # springs over from the old head. It's a new casting from Brazil, does anyone know about these or where another good place to look would be. Thanks guys

Unless you know for certain that the head is bad, I would get a second opinion.

We are fortunate to have a genuine "crack doctor" within a hundred miles of here.

He says that nearly every head on any engine will have a bunch of superficial cracks around the valves that are insignificant to the operation of the engine.

Most of these are only surface cracks.

Magnaflux will show all of these cracks, but more testing is in order before condemning a head.

So long as these cracks don't leak into somewhere they shouldn't, just run it.
