head gasket

anyone heard of the "cometic" head gaskets? or has anyone run them, i found them on the site www.cometic.com my cousin runs them in his race car with no problems, but i have always been told to get a cummins gasket.

From what I've read in many of the diesel forums, the cometic still needs more R&D to work reliably in our diesels. Seems most who've installed them have had a failure in short order. Some suggest it's an issue with having both the head and block dead flat for a successful install. Some talk like even that's not good enough without 14mm studs.

If you're looking at high boost, then the old tried-and-true O-ringed head, 12mm studs, and a genuine Cummins gasket is hard to beat.

BC847 pretty much nailed it. I have 2 of my own done that way and I have had absolutely no problems with them.
